Responding 2NT to partner’s one-bid of a major shows
trump support and a good balanced hand (no void or singleton). With a void or
singleton and 4+ trumps and 13+ points use a Splinter Bid instead.
Requirements are:
4+ trumps
13+ total points
No singleton or void (otherwise bid a splinter instead)
Off if RHO bids
If RHO doubles use Jordan 2 NT to show a limit raise
or better |
If RHO overcalls cue bid the overcaller’s suit to
show a limit raise or better.
Simplified Jacoby 2NT (My 1st
preference)
Opener’s Responses:
First priority is to show a singleton or void, if any:
3-Level bid shows a stiff
4-level bid shows a void
If no singleton
or void, describe hand strength by bidding:
4 of the trump suit = minimum, 13 - 15.
3NT = a good 16 or 17 points.
3 of the trump suit = 18+ total points.
Regular Jacoby 2NT (My 2nd preference)
Opener’s Responses:
First priority is to show a singleton or void, if any: Bid
that suit at the 3-level.
If no singleton
or void, describe hand strength by bidding:
4 of the trump suit = minimum.
3NT = a good 14 or 15 points.
3 of the trump suit = 16+ total points.

Responder’
Rebids:
Responder is the quarterback and will determine the auction.
If responder rebids a suit other than the trump suit, that is
a cue bid showing first round control. You respond with your first round
control starting with your cheapest suit (up the line).
