Used against the Precision bidding system (strong one-club openings and one-diamond negative responses). When opener bids artificial 1 club, or responder bids an artificial 1 diamond. Purpose is to enter the bidding to compete.

Note: You can use the same method against a Standard strong 2C opening.

Against a Precision 1C or Standard strong 2C opening when holding a 7-card suit (sometimes an excellent 6-card suit) overcall at the three-level if your losers total no more than:

	Six if vulnerable
	Seven if non-vulnerable

Against A Strong 1C Opening

	1D = diamonds
	1H = hearts
	1S = spades
	2C = clubs
	Double = both majors
	1 NT = both minors

Against A Strong 2C Opening

	2D = diamonds
	2H = hearts
	2S = spades
	3C = clubs
	Double = both majors
	2 NT = both minors
